Frequently Asked Questions

With hundreds of participants gathering to experience everything the weekend has to offer from campus tours to tower climbing, engaging debates, and special celebrations of reunion classes celebration with '01 and '06 peers. Alumni & Family Weekend is truly a time of joy, connection, and reminiscing on unforgettable moments. To help you navigate the event details, we’ve compiled answers to some of the most frequently asked questions to help you enjoy the weekend to its fullest. 

All Alumni and their families are welcome to attend the weekend’s festivities. Alumni celebrating a reunion year will enjoy special reunion activities. Parents of current students are also welcome to attend, though a special Parent Weekend will be held Nov. 12-15. More details about that weekend will be shared soon.

Golden Crusaders can register. To do that, please click the Golden Crusaders button on the registration page.

Tickets start at $25 to attend Alumni & Family weekend. Food Trucks & Haggar Cafe will be available on Friday to purchase dinner. These are not included in the $25 base price. Online pricing ends September 20th.

The Saturday, Alumni Greekfest Dinner can be purchased for $29.95 along with your AFW ticket. Online Ticket pricing will close on Sept. 20th. Tickets can be purchased onsite at an increased cost. 

The Golden Crusaders Dinner on Friday, Sept. 25th and weekend activities are $70. Golden Crusaders wanting to eat at the Saturday, Alumni Greekfest Dinner can purchase an additional meal ticket for $29.95 when they register. It's not possible to accommodate late registrations for the Golden Crusader Dinner on Friday. Thank you for understanding.

The general AFW ticket includes access to weekend activities, including faculty lectures and classes, family activities, the Dallas Forum, alumni and faculty happy hour, the faculty debate, master classes, and mock classes, open classes hosted by faculty on a volunteer basis (varies), the bounce houses for children under the age of 12 & Crusader Kids Zone activities, rugby sports Match, and other athletic events (Invitation-only events are excluded).

Online pricing ends Sept. 20, and onsite tickets will be available at a higher rate.

When you RSVP for Alumni & Family Weekend, it helps us properly staff the event, by coordinating with our vendors. Thank you for your help!

Some events offered throughout the weekend are by invitation only. If you receive an invitation to one of these, please let us know we should expect you.

Registration for children under the age of 3 are free with a paying adult. Children ages 4-13 are ½ priced & children ages 14+ pay full price for the weekend activities. Saturday’s Alumni Greekfest Dinner meal ticket is full price regardless of age.

Saturday’s Alumni Greekfest Dinner ( celebrating reunion classes ending ‘06 and ‘01) is tailored for all adults. Please plan to arrange childcare if you will attend the reunion dinner.  Nursing children are welcome. 

You will automatically be registered for the Crusader Kid’s Zone, once you mark the checkbox and add your signature to the waiver. A waiver must be signed to access the bounce houses. This is included in the purchase of your general AFW ticket. 

Please note that the Kids Zone will have activities for children, but will not have paid sitters to watch children and adults will be responsible to watch their children.

Professors volunteer to welcome alumni and alumni with families to audit their classes on Friday. Please only attend classes that are listed on the schedule. Remember, these classes are still part of the students’ curriculum, and space is limited.If you are unable to attend Friday’s Open Classes, join us for Mock Classes on Saturday. 

Unfortunately, we are unable to process refunds at this time, so please plan accordingly. 

  • The Capp Bar and the Dumb Ox will be open with regular hours throughout the weekend.
    • The Dumb Ox will be open Friday 5:00–11:00 p.m. and Saturday, it will be closed for the Six&One reunion class with the highest attendance during AFW.
    • The Capp Bar will be open Friday 7:30am - 5:30pm and Saturday 12pm - 10pm

Cash Bars available throughout the weekend.

Food Trucks will be open from 5:00–8:00 p.m. for you to purchase individual meals taking cash or credit cards. Food Trucks will offer a kids meal option.

Frassati’s is open Monday–Friday, 10:30 a.m.–5:30 pm. (Guests may purchase food during regular operating hours).

Haggar Cafe: AFW participants can eat for $11.77 ( includes tax) . 

  • Friday: 7:15 AM - 3 PM; 5 PM - 6:00* PM
    *Closes early on Friday at 6p for Golden Crusaders Event. They will have take out boxes available for anyone want to purchase food and eat it at the mall.
  • Saturday: 9:30 AM - 3 PM; PM: CLOSED for Greekfest Dinner on the mall

Saturday Dinner: Alumni Greekfest Dinner must be added on to your registration for each individual in your party. The meal price is $29.95.

Please dress comfortably as we offer a variety of events from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Dressing in layers is recommended; please check the weather. 
Persons with disabilities needing special assistance to attend this event should contact the ADA Coordinator at ada@udallas.edu.  The request must be made at least three business days before the event.  The University will provide reasonable accommodation to those requesting assistance.
Guests can park at any unmarked parking spot on campus for that weekend. Please be advised that parking will be limited in Lot A on Friday, Sept. 25, for Golden Crusaders, and Lot C on Saturday, Sept. 26, for vendors participating in the Alumni Business Festival. Please try to carpool or arrive early to secure a spot. 
There is a DART stop that drops you off at the University of Dallas. To inquire about the schedule and fare, please visit the DART website.
If you misplace something or find something, please bring it to the check-in table in Haggar University Center. We will hold all items until 7 p.m. on Saturday.
