“Teaching the American Regime”

A conference for the discussion of the teaching—especially at the K-12 level—of American literature, history, politics, and civics, bringing together academics, scholars, and other leading figures with local classical educators. This first event will focus on the question of the “regime,” understood broadly as the “constitution” or “way of life” of a people. What is the American regime, and how ought teachers to instruct in or about it?

The peculiar feature of this conference is that discussants for the following panels are K-12 teachers chosen from among the American Studies Institute Fellows.
