Toby is president of the MidSouth Computational Biology and Bioinformatics Society (MCBIOS). The society, a group of scientists joined to advance research in computational biology, is hosting a conference on the University of Dallas campus, March 15-17, on “Big Data and Artificial Intelligence for Genomics and Therapeutics.”

Toby will deliver an address at the event.

“The mission of MCBIOS is to foster networking and collaboration, promote the professional development of members and support our student members,” Toby stated.

“Our society-sponsored events, such as the annual conference and the drug discovery and development colloquium, continue to attract talented scientists from across the globe who gather together to share scientific information to advance our understanding in many areas.”

UD biology professor Saadia Bihmidine, Ph.D., will also present at the conference.

Toby recently won the university’s annual Haggar Fellow award for her research activity. In addition to leading MCBIOS, Toby marshaled scientists around Texas to volunteer for the COVID-19 National Science Volunteer Database. She also contributes research to the university’s Community Assistance Research partnership.
