IRVING, Texas (Sept. 8, 2023) — As the 2023-24 school year begins, the University of Dallas welcomes new faculty members in various disciplines and congratulates others on their promotions.
- Christopher Bell, PhD, assistant professor of psychology, earned his doctorate from the University of West Georgia and formerly taught at Wesleyan University.
- Richard H. Bulzacchelli, STD, affiliate assistant professor of ministry, held the position of lecturer of theology at the Catholic Studies Academy prior to his appointment at UD.
- Adam Eitel, PhD, associate professor of theology, earned his doctorate in theology from the Princeton Theological Seminary and was assistant professor of ethics at the Yale University Divinity School.
- Cheryl Hollingsworth, MLS, joins the Cowan-Blakley Memorial Library as cataloging librarian following an appointment as audio/visual librarian at the Mesquite Public Library.
- Joshua Kinlaw, PhD, affiliate assistant professor of classical education, holds a PhD in history from the University of New York. Previously, he was assistant professor of history and humanities at King’s College of New York City.
- Susan Matassa, director of the Writing Lab, is a student in the Institute of Philosophic Studies and longtime Writing Lab tutor.
- Mi Hee Nahm, MFA, has served as affiliate assistant professor of painting at UD since 2021. She has been moved to a tenure track position as assistant professor.
- Abigail Newpher, MLS, earned her master’s degree in library science from the University of North Texas. She joins the Cowan-Blakley Memorial Library as a reference librarian.
- Adriana Roman, BS, has assumed the role of affiliate instructor of biology and will continue to serve the university as laboratory coordinator. She is currently pursuing a graduate degree at the University of Dallas.
- Martin Sanchez, MFA, costume designer for the Department of Drama, is a recipient of the Dallas Theater Center Project Discovery Grant and the Artist Foundation Grant for Costume Design from the San Antonio Department of Arts and Culture.
- Thomas Schneider, PhD, affiliate assistant professor of politics, earned his doctorate in political science from Boston College. He was assistant visiting professor at Utah Tech University.
- John Soriano, PhD, assistant professor of economics, joins the UD faculty from the University of Maryland, where he earned his doctorate and served as economics careers graduate assistant.
- Estelle Voisin, PhD, affiliate assistant professor of art, received her doctorate at the Institut d’Art et d’Archéologie at the Sorbonne University in Paris. She has taught as an adjunct in the Department of Art for many years.
- Michael West, PhD, postdoctoral fellow in English, received his doctorate in English and comparative literature from Columbia University. Prior to his new role, he served as affiliate assistant professor of humanities at UD.
Current doctoral students Kari Brooks, Patrick Gordon and John Herald IV joined the Department of Philosophy as Wojtyla Graduate Teaching Fellows.
