IRVING, Texas (May 13, 2025) — The University of Dallas and John Paul the Great Catholic University in Escondido, California, have officially entered into a partnership to streamline graduate admissions and offer a tuition scholarship to JPCatholic alumni pursuing graduate studies at UDallas.

The agreement, effective through June 1, 2029, provides qualified graduates of JPCatholic with a 20% scholarship, known as the Newman School Scholarship, upon admission to one of UDallas’ graduate programs. This partnership aims to support the academic and professional development of students who share a commitment to the Catholic intellectual tradition.

“We are delighted to partner with John Paul the Great Catholic University to further opportunities for students as they continue to cultivate and integrate their faith while enhancing their careers.” said J. Lee Whittington, PhD, dean of the Satish & Yasmin Gupta College of Business at the University of Dallas.

JPCatholic graduates may apply the scholarship to programs in both the Braniff Graduate School of Liberal Arts and the UDallas College of Business.

While admission is not automatic and remains subject to academic review, the agreement facilitates informational access between institutions. Both universities will host information sessions and welcome admissions representatives to discuss opportunities with prospective students.

“JPCatholic is grateful to the University of Dallas for extending this scholarship to our graduates,” said Joe Connolly, chief academic officer of John Paul the Great Catholic University. “Our missions and areas of study align exceptionally well, so it’s a natural progression for students as they continue their education and formation. We’re eager to see the impact these young men and women will have on the world.”

Designated liaisons at each institution will oversee the implementation and coordination of this agreement, ensuring ongoing communication and support.

JPCatholic is the second college to accept the Newman School Scholarship, following Ave Maria University’s agreement with UDallas in February.
