Who qualifies for the Catalyst Pathway
If you have a minimum of eight years of work experience, and at least two of those years came in a supervisory capacity, and you have not completed a bachelor's degree, then you qualify to apply through the Catalyst Pathway.
The pathway serves applicants with some college credit and applicants with none. You submit all of your undergraduate transcripts as part of the application, and no minimum number of completed credits applies.
Applicants who hold a completed U.S. bachelor's degree in any field, or the foreign
equivalent, apply through standard graduate admission instead. No GMAT score is required
there either.

Why the Catalyst Pathway exists
Corporate partners told the University they had capable, proven employees, people already doing the work and already leading teams, who were blocked from advancement by a missing credential. The Gupta College of Business built the Catalyst Pathway to answer that.
The pathway remains something the College offers its corporate partners as a route for experienced employees who do not yet hold a bachelor's degree. Partner organizations include CHRISTUS Health, among others.
Employees at partner organizations may have tuition benefits that apply here, including a 20% tuition scholarship through the corporate partners program and benefits administered through Guild.
Is the Catalyst Pathway legitimate?
The College holds AACSB accreditation
AACSB International accredits the Satish & Yasmin Gupta College of Business. Catalyst students earn degrees from an AACSB-accredited business school on the same terms as every other graduate student.
AACSB accreditation is the standard that business school deans and corporate recruiters recognize. Fewer than 6% of business schools worldwide have it. The Gupta College of Business also offers the only AACSB-accredited Doctor of Business Administration in Texas.

What probationary admission means
The University admits Catalyst students on probationary status. The standard is a 3.0 GPA with no grade lower than a B in all coursework.
That standard is published, specific, and measured against the work itself. You enroll in the same graduate courses as every other student in your program, with the same faculty, syllabi, and grading. Your performance in those courses is what the University evaluates, rather than an undergraduate record from years earlier.

How the Catalyst Pathway works, step by step
1. Begin with a conversation
Before you apply, speak with a graduate admissions counselor about your work history and which program fits your objectives. Catalyst admission leads to the MBA, to any of its concentrations, or to the MS in Accounting, Business Analytics, Cybersecurity, Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, Finance or Financial Planning. Programs are 36 credit hours. The conversation requires no application.
2. Submit the Catalyst Application
The Catalyst Application requires all of your undergraduate transcripts, a personal statement, and three letters of recommendation. No GMAT or GRE score is required, and submitting one is optional. Graduate business applications have a $50 application fee that is waived.
3. The committee reviews your file
Graduate business admission runs on a rolling basis with no application deadline. Submit your application at least two business days before a term starts and you can begin with the closest start date. Decisions on a complete file takes 1-3 business days.
4. Review your financing options
Tuition for graduate business programs is $1,300 per credit hour for the 2025-2026 academic year, with qualifying and foundation courses at $780 per credit hour. To be considered for aid, you submit the FAFSA and talk to a financial aid counselor. Employees of corporate partners may qualify for a 20% tuition scholarship, and Guild-sponsored students submit a sponsorship letter at least seven days before the term starts. Veterans and dependents work with the School Certification Officer, who certifies enrollment with the VA once you register each term.
5. Begin coursework
Graduate business terms run 12 weeks in the fall and spring, 10 weeks in summer. Several programs are available 100% online in an asynchronous format, and the rest run in a blended format that combines online work with class meetings on the Irving campus. Once admitted, you submit an Intent to Enroll form to hold your place, and the College assigns you an academic advisor who reviews your degree plan and approves your registration. Six credit hours a term is the load the University uses to build its own cost estimates.

We have found that work experience matters most. Students with significant work experience tend to be the most successful and can more easily relate to business-related material.
