Teaching Philosophy or Approach

My teaching philosophy is grounded in the belief that students learn best when they actively engage with material in ways that mirror real-world decision-making. I emphasize applied learning, critical thinking, and the integration of theory with practice. In my courses, students are not passive recipients of information. They analyze data, solve complex problems, and interpret results in ways that prepare them for professional environments. I design learning experiences that require students to move beyond memorization and develop judgment, adaptability, and analytical confidence.

I incorporate innovative teaching strategies that leverage data analytics, real-world business cases, and emerging technologies, including AI-supported tools, to enhance learning outcomes. My approach prioritizes student development through structured feedback, iterative assignments, and meaningful engagement. I am deeply committed to student success and invest significant time in mentoring, coaching, and fostering an environment where students are challenged yet supported. My goal is to ensure that every student leaves my classroom not only with knowledge but also with the ability to apply it effectively.

Research Interests and Expertise

My research focuses on organizational ethics, leadership, and workplace behavior, with a particular emphasis on understanding the mechanisms that influence unethical pro-organizational behavior. My current research explores how leadership, organizational culture, work engagement, and organizational commitment shape employee decision-making and can serve as levers to reduce unethical behavior in organizations. This work matters because it provides practical guidance for organizations seeking to build ethical, high-performing cultures in increasingly complex environments.

Professional Engagement and Impact

In addition to my academic work, I bring industry and applied experience that informs both my teaching and research. Prior to entering academia, I worked as a product manager at an international organization based in Germany, where I engaged in cross-functional decision-making, strategic planning, and product development in a global business environment. This experience continues to shape my approach to teaching by ensuring that concepts are grounded in practical application and aligned with industry expectations.

Short Personal Statement

I am driven by a commitment to impact through education, research, and leadership. I believe that the role of a professor extends beyond the classroom to shaping how individuals think, make decisions, and contribute to organizations and society. My work is guided by values of integrity, intellectual curiosity, and service.

Personal Interests and Community Involvement

Outside of UD, I enjoy reading, traveling, and spending time with my family. I love exploring new places, especially beaches around the world, and spending time outdoors with my husband and children. Whether it is being near the water or simply enjoying time together, those moments help keep me grounded and energized.
