Thank you for joining us in celebrating the outstanding legacy of Louise Cowan at the Spring 2016 Braniff Salon.
In honor of the memory of Louise Cowan, Ph.D. (Dec. 22, 1916 - Nov. 16, 2015), the spring Braniff Salon featured a panel of her students who studied in the Braniff Graduate School under her and are now professors themselves. They led a discussion of some of the lyric poetry she so loved.

Panelists
Mary K. Mumbach, Ph.D.
Mary K. Mumbach earned her M.A. in English, class of '72, and her Ph.D. in literature with a minor in politics, class of '77, from the The Braniff Graduate School of Liberal Arts. She is currently Academic Dean and Professor of Humanities and Literature at Northeast Catholic College in Warner, New Hampshire. Mary K. also earned her B.A. in English from the University of Dallas.
Kathleen Kelly Marks, Ph.D.
Kathleen Kelly Marks earned her M. A in English, class of '93, and her Ph.D. in literature, '00, from The Braniff Graduate School of Liberal Arts. Currently, Kathleen is Associate Professor of English CPS at St. John's University in Queens, NY.
Gregory Borse, Ph.D.
Gregory Borse earned his M.A. in English in 1992 from the Braniff Graduate School of Liberal Arts and his Ph.D. from Louisiana State University. He is Associate Professor of English at The University of Arkansas at Monticello. He also earned his B.A. in English from the University of Dallas.
Kathryn Smith, Ph.D.
Dr. Smith earned her M.A. in English and her Ph.D. in literature, class of '13 from the The Braniff Graduate School of Liberal Arts. She is Adjunct Instructor of English at the University of Dallas and Adjunct Instructor in the Discernment and Discourse Program at Southern Methodist University.
Robert Dupree, Ph.D.
Robert Dupree was one of Louise’s earliest students, earning his B.A. in English from the University of Dallas Constantin College of Liberal Arts, followed by his M.A. and Ph.D. in English from Yale University. He is Professor of English at University of Dallas. Robert Dupree, Ph.D. will moderate the salon.
