Biography
Andy received his PhD in philosophy from the University of Chicago in 2017, where he wrote a dissertation on Kant and Hegel. He has published articles in the Journal of Modern Philosophy, the European Journal of Philosophy, Hegel-Studien, and the Canadian Journal of Philosophy, among other journals and edited volumes. He has a book scheduled to come out in September of 2026 with Cambridge University Press entitled Hegel on the Authority of Reason: Speculative Cognition and the Analogies. His current research focuses are on conceptions of freedom in Kant and Post-Kantian philosophy and on the philosophical significance of George Eliot's fiction.
