Spanish Scholarship

Amount: $1,000 - $5,000 Per Year

Eligibility: High School Seniors and Transfer Students

Application available: August 1
Deadline to apply: December 1
Deadline to interview on campus: December 15

Although many applicants may be qualified in multiple subject areas, each student may only apply for one departmental scholarship award.

To Apply for the Spanish Department Scholarship, you must:

1. 1. Apply for admission to University of Dallas.
   2. Complete the Spanish Departmental Scholarship Application and submit at least two weeks prior to your campus visit and interview. Attach any supplemental material to the online application OR email to admissions@udallas.edu.
      1. Request a letter of recommendation from your high school or college Spanish teacher be submitted to admissions@udallas.edu.
      2. Your high school transcript will be pulled from your general admission application.
   3. Once you have completed your application you will be instructed how to schedule an on-campus interview with the Spanish Department
      1. Although it is not required for the scholarship, if applicants have studied Spanish, they should be prepared to demonstrate their reading and speaking ability in Spanish.

Renewability Criteria:

The Spanish Department Scholarship is renewable annually for four consecutive school years, dependent upon the student's academic performance and the criteria stated below:

1. Fulfill general scholarship renewal criteria.
2. Complete at least four courses above the Intermediate I level.
3. Begin Spanish courses during the first semester freshman year and take at least one course each semester attending the Irving  campus until the minimum is reached.
4. Meet with the Spanish Advisor each semester for approval of your course schedule until you have achieved the minimum course completion requirements.
5. Help organize at least one extracurricular activity per semester that is of interest to students of Spanish.
