Exercise and Fitness
There is no doubt that physical activity is good for a healthy mind and body. Regular exercise helps to control weight, reduce the risk of disease, and can lead to a longer life.
Three types of physical activity are:
- Aerobic exercise - swimming, bicycling, brisk walking and jogging
- Muscle-strengthening exercises - weight lifting, push-ups
- Weight bearing exercises - climbing stairs, running and jumping rope
How to get started
- Begin slowly - don't try to do too much too quickly
- Ask a friend to join you - this helps to keep each other motivated
- Write down your goals - keep a record of daily exercise
Any amount of exercise is better than none. Exercise helps to clear your mind and relieve your stress.
