Fr. Jeronimo

Alumnus Fr. Jerónimo Espinosa, MPM ‘23, was recently appointed chaplain, and began his service to the students, faculty and staff of the University of Dallas last month.

Espinoza is a Colombian priest and member of the St. Joseph Association, a community devoted to serving youth and young adults. With over 15 years of ministry experience, he already has strong ties to the University of Dallas—earning his master’s in pastoral ministry here in 2023.

“We are delighted to welcome Fr. Jerónimo back to the University of Dallas in this important role,” said President Jonathan J. Sanford, PhD. “As both an alumnus and a priest deeply committed to serving young people, he brings a unique combination of pastoral experience and familiarity with our community. I am confident that his presence will strengthen the spiritual life of our campus and accompany our students, faculty and staff as they seek wisdom, grow in faith, and live abundantly.”

Ordained in Dec. 2021, Espinoza served as a priest-in-residence at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish in Dallas while completing his studies, and also supported other local parishes.

“It was an epic first week,” Espinoza said enthusiastically. “It was filled with thousands of handshakes, new faces, tons of welcome and bienvenidos. Hundreds of names that I already forgot but brought to prayer, new faces of strangers that in due time will become family, friends and hopefully, spiritual children. I look forward to getting to know, not just know about, the people of God who study and work at UDallas.”
