Loyola Tree

IRVING, Texas (March 6, 2026) - The University of Dallas’ Satish & Yasmin Gupta College of Business is proud to partner with Loyola College, Chennai, India, to expand academic collaboration and create new pathways for students and faculty to engage in global education, cultural exchange and professional development.

A powerful symbol of this growing relationship took root last September when Loyola College Chennai and the University of Dallas jointly planted a “Centenary Friendship Tree” on the University of Dallas campus—an act intended to commemorate Loyola College Chennai’s 100th year and to honor the ongoing academic partnership between our institutions. As Loyola alumni shared following the ceremony, the tree stands as a living legacy of collaboration, friendship and hope for the future.

“This partnership reflects a shared commitment to forming ethical leaders and equipping professionals with the interpersonal skills, the technical knowledge and the character needed to succeed in today’s increasingly complex global economy,"  said Dr. J. Lee Whittington, dean of the UDallas College of Business and professor of management. "The Gupta College of Business realizes that even as new technologies emerge, the human dimension of business cannot be ignored. We equip our students to flourish."

Through continued collaboration, both institutions aim to foster meaningful opportunities—ranging from academic engagement to professional advancement—for students and faculty.

A welcoming invitation

“We are grateful to the Loyola Alumni Association USA for its interest in sharing information about this partnership and the opportunities it can create,” said Whittington. “For Loyola alumni who are considering graduate study in the United States—or who want to explore advanced training to strengthen their careers—the University of Dallas welcomes your inquiries.”
