Growing up in India, Ruchir was drawn to the academic reputation and international perspectives offered at the University of Dallas.
We asked Ruchir a few questions about his ROI earned from pursuing his MBA at the University of Dallas.
What value did a UD degree add to your career?
What drew me to the University of Dallas was its practical approach to business. At most academic institutions your focus is mostly, if not entirely, based on theory. At UD, I learned about business from industry experts and thought-leaders. The time and effort I spent there gave me experiences only gained through years in the industry.
What do you think makes UD different from other graduate business programs?
At UD, every class I took was small enough to allow me the opportunity to have genuine personal relationships with my professors. Each faculty member was generous with their time, and all were personally invested in my success.
How did the classroom experience enhance your graduate business education?
The Gupta College of Business has students from a wide range of backgrounds and experiences. My classmates were business executives, small business owners and even some international students. I enjoyed hearing their perspectives and experiences during class discussions. Their views of the business world often challenged my perspectives and pushed me to gain a deeper understanding of the world around me.
Is there any one professor that had a particular impact on you?
Dr. Jude Olsen had a significant impact on me. Her classes were exceptionally engaging, and her dedication to helping students succeed beyond the classroom naturally drew her students to her. Dr. Olsen's extensive experience in the corporate world made the topics we discussed in class relatable and enlightening.
What drew you to UD?
The personal attention I was given throughout the application process drew me to the university. The admission counselors were genuinely friendly in person and very responsive to my messages. This openness continued even when I became a student. My adviser was kind and welcoming, sincerely interested in me and ensured I had the tools I needed to accomplish my goals.
