About AFS

The Accounting and Finance Society (AFS) is the University of Dallas club for undergraduate students pursuing careers in accounting and finance. Whether you're exploring the field, building your resume, or preparing for internship and full-time recruiting, the AFS club at UDallas is here to help you reach these goals.

Through our events, we connect members with the resources, people, and experiences needed to compete for top roles in accounting and finance. With Dallas emerging as a major hub for finance ("Y'all Street"), and downtown just fifteen minutes from campus — AFS members are being positioned to take advantage of these new emerging opportunities. 

AFS reflects the UDallas approach to business education: developing students who think critically, communicate effectively, and lead with integrity — not just graduating with a mere printed business degree, but with a collection of meaningful experiences. University of Dallas is frequently seen as among the best schools for students pursuing specialized graduate business tracks such as finance and accounting. We're a community built on the pursuit of excellence, collaboration, and mutual success.

Who We Are

AFS is led by a President, a Vice President, a Secretary, a Treasurer, and a team of officers who manage day-to-day operations and run the organization's events and outreach. Each officer brings a different set of skills and interests to the team, which helps AFS offer a wider range of experiences to our members. 

How to Join

Attendance to AFS club events is open to all UDallas students — no application required. Officer positions are filled through a competitive application and interview process at the start of each academic year. Interested students are encouraged to attend our information sessions to learn more about officer responsibilities and the application process. We welcome applicants from any major or year.

Michael (Mikey) loves traveling and learning about new cultures, running when it’s not too hot outside in DFW, reading history books, and studying other religions or languages. Coming back from a semester abroad at UD’s Due Santi Campus in Rome, he’s spent much time mastering his Italian and picking up some French. An Eagle Scout at heart, he loves hiking and spending time outdoors whenever he gets the chance. He’s double-majoring in Business and Economics and currently serves as President of the UD Accounting & Finance Society.

Connie is a soccer lover and a Dallas Mavericks fan. When she isn’t cheering on FC Barcelona or keeping up with the Mavs, you can find her at the gym, curating Spotify playlists, or finding new ways to stay busy. Her favorite artists are Travis Scott, Don Toliver, and Zayn. Her favorite song is “HIGHEST IN THE ROOM” by Travis Scott, and she is always looking for new music to add to her playlist. When she isn’t keeping up with sports or listening to music, Connie loves spending time with her friends and exploring DFW. She is a Business Major and serves as Vice President of the UD Accounting & Finance Society.

Isabella Woodley loves reading and writing, listening to music, and spending time outdoors when the Texas heat allows. An avid reader of Dostoevsky, she especially enjoys tasks that involve creative freedom. She loves spending the weekends with her family, visiting friends at nearby campuses wherever she can, and is an avid animal lover. She currently serves as Secretary of the UD Accounting & Finance Society.

Anna is a New York gal who, above all, enjoys being as creative as possible–whether in cooking, crafting, or making Pinterest Boards for absolutely every situation. In her free time, she loves to catch up with friends, spend time in nature, and give in to her latte addiction. This summer, Anna was working as a pharmacy technician in New York. She is excited to start her role as Treasurer of the UD Accounting & Finance Society and is looking forward to the year ahead!

When she isn't reading plays or listening to JUNGLE, Clare can be found daydreaming about another life as a ballerina, or analyzing NYT Cooking videos while waiting for her sourdough to proof (she started a sourdough business last summer and will not stop talking about it). She will drop everything to discuss her favorite TV show, "The Crown," at any given moment, and she believes all things are possible with a matcha latte in hand. Movie recs, anyone?

Jack McGuire

Jack McGuire is an Iowa native who enjoys swimming, golfing, and spending time with friends. He is a Business major at the University of Dallas and spent the Fall 2025 semester studying at UD’s Rome Campus. Jack developed an interest in investing after founding the Dowling Catholic Student Investment Fund in high school, where he established and managed a student-managed portfolio. This past summer, he interned at Wellmark Blue Cross & Blue Shield working in market intelligence and strategy, with a focus on AI and data analytics. He currently serves as Director of the Wealth Management Group for the UD Accounting & Finance Society and is helping develop UD’s undergraduate student-managed investment fund.
