The Master of Science in accounting at the University of Dallas provides accounting professionals with the foundation necessary to excel in today’s financial environment. Upon graduation, students are prepared to sit for the CPA exam and begin a career in public accounting in a variety of roles.

What Will I Study? 

The MS in Accounting program offers an intensive curriculum which encourages:

  • specialized coverage of a wide range of topics, including financial and managerial accounting, along with tax, auditing, and financial analytics
  • ethical analysis of cases in every MS accounting course
  • development of written and oral skills, particularly through research
  • practical applications and theoretical discussions
  • working knowledge of a variety of accounting software and databases

What Kind of Commitment Am I Making?

Enterprise Architecture

The MS in accounting is a 33-hour program comprising 11 classes. Almost all classes are on the Irving campus or in a hybrid format (partly online, partly on campus). This allows a wide range of face-to-face collaborative opportunities with other students and professors.  No GMAT or GRE is required for admission. For the typical working professional taking two classes per semester, the MS can be completed in about 1.5 to 2 years

Where Can a Career in Accounting Take Me?

Students who complete this program become well equipped to navigate challenges in this dynamic profession. Most graduates pursue careers in fields such as assurance, taxation, consulting or forensic accounting. Others will choose career paths in business or industry in areas such as financial reporting, managerial accounting, financial analysis or treasury functions.
