Why I love UD/Why I Recruit Students for UD: The four years I spent at University of Dallas were more than a time of intellectual and spiritual formation - though there was that aplenty! Life at University of Dallas felt like the beginning of a life well-lived, and not a temporary stage of training before my life began. The books we read and discussions we have with professors and students teach us to work, play and above all, pray better. That kind of foundation, and the deep friendships which are formed upon it, is a blessing beyond description.

Where Do You Hang Out in Dallas: Mockingbird Station is one of my favorite places to eat and hang out with friends, especially at the Angelika movie theater. I also love to visit the Arboretum and walk around White Rock Lake.

Favorite Books: Our Mutual Friend by Charles Dickens, The Honeycomb by Adela Rogers St. Johns, and The World’s First Love by Bl. Fulton Sheen.

Favorite Movie: The Wizard of Oz is evergreen, and you can’t go wrong with Sense and Sensibility or Little Women.

Favorite Place to Eat in DFW: Dallas is so full of great food, it’s hard to pick just one. I love pizza at Cane Rosso, curry at Roti Grill, and tacos at Velvet Taco. And if you want ice cream, there’s no better place than Pure Milk & Honey.

Favorite UD Event: Charity Week - in particular, jailing my professors at the end of the week. Every now and then, lightsabers may be involved.

Favorite/Coolest Place I Have Visited: Ghent, Belgium. The Ghent Altarpiece is exquisitely beautiful, as are the canals which course throughout the city.

Advice to Prospective Students: Visit the campus of each school you are interested in if you can and ask yourself - “Is this school a place where I will thrive in every aspect of my life?” Successful college experiences are about finding the balance between career and academic preparation and a campus life where you can find a home within the community.
