International Student Pre-Arrival Checklist

Congratulations on your admission to UD! Please refer to the following checklist as you prepare for your arrival in Dallas.

Academics

• Return your Offer Acceptance Form (see your admissions letter for a direct link)
• Review program design (contact your advisor if you have questions)
• Log into Banner Web (instructions sent in admissions email)
• Update personal information (be sure that your email is accurate as all communication is done over email)
• Look up class offerings
• Make payment arrangements once you have registered for classes (you must pay in full or set up a payment plan before classes begin)
• Register for classes (contact your advisor if you need help with this process)
• Familiarize yourself with drop/add, refund, academic honesty, and other academic policies
• Bookmark student resources page for quick reference
• Memorize student ID number
• Start connecting with other UD students via Facebook and LinkedIn

Prepare for Arrival

• Review pre-arrival packet sent with your I-20
• Purchase airplane tickets
• Arrange housing, including your first night in the USA
• Tower Village Apartments (Located across the street from campus)
• Other apartments: Apartmentwiz, ApartmentList, and Forrent.
• Reserve hotel room for temporary place to stay if needed (make reservation in advance)
• Arrange airport transportation
• Super Shuttle, City Shuttle and Go Yellow Checker Shuttle are three companies that offer "shared ride" services from the DFW airport. The cost is determined by zip code, and the University of Dallas zip code is 75062.
• Taxis: Uber and Lyft.
