Fr. Ramirez earned a licentiate and doctorate in biblical sciences from the Pontifical Biblical Institute in Rome. He holds baccalaureates in philosophy from the Pontifical Gregorian University and in theology from Pontifical Athaeneum Regina Apostolorum. His field of expertise is the Old Testament. He has taught biblical theology in Rome, San Antonio, Texas and Baltimore, Maryland. Fr. Ramirez has been leading tours to the Holy Land for almost 20 years.

Mark Goodwin, Ph.D. received his doctoral degree from Yale University in 1992 and has taught in the Theology Department at the University of Dallas since 1993. Dr. Goodwin's interests in scripture are wide-ranging, but are focused on the New Testament and its first century Jewish environment. He taught for three years on the Rome Campus, and has served as Chair of the Department of Theology, Interim Dean of the Neuhoff Institute, and the Faculty Senate. Dr. Goodwin organized the outstanding Nostra Aetate event in 2015-16.

Maura Sala has a doctorate in archaeology from the Università la Sapienza in Rome. She also held a post-doctoral fellowship in the field of Mediterranean and Near Eastern Archeology at the Italian Institute of Human Sciences (SUM) in Florence. Maura has been the field director of the Archaeological Expedition to Tell es-Sultan/ ancient Jericho and has extensively published on the archaeology of the Levant (Syria-Palestina). Since 2010, she has organized study journeys and trips to Israel, Palestine and Jordan for students and professors of various universities including Sapienza University of Rome, Faculty of Theology of Lugano and Pontifical Urban University (Vatican).

 

Moshe Malka has more than 22 years of experience in tourism, organizing and leading tours throughout Israel. He is licensed with the Ministry of Tourism and is the co-owner and CEO of “Gates to Israel,” a tour company providing full VIP tailor-made services to both English and Spanish-speaking tourists.

Since 1992, Moshe has been an active tour guide. He has experience working with diverse audiences. He has guided individuals and families on private tours as well as full size groups, Jews and non-Jews, congresses as well as pilgrims, leisure tours, incentives, small groups and big groups.

Specializing in leading Christian tours and Biblical trips to Israel for different denominations, Moshe has a deep knowledge of Christianity and Judaism, especially the Jewish roots of Christianity. As such, he also travels to the U.S. to promote tourism to Israel, give lectures and presentations and answer questions about Israel.

Moshe grew up in religious schools, supportive in both teaching and practice. His deep knowledge of Judaism is both theological and practical. This background, together with his deep understanding of Christianity, allows him to provide a rich and meaningful experience for his tourists.
