Biography

Yunet Puentes has been a member of the Modern Languages Department at the University of Dallas since 2022. Originally from Cuba, she holds a master’s degree in Spanish from the University of North Texas. She teaches beginning and intermediate levels of Spanish and is committed to helping students develop both linguistic proficiency and cultural awareness. As a second language learner herself, she relates closely to her students’ experiences and is dedicated to facilitating their learning with empathy and understanding. Her academic interests focus on the pedagogy of the Spanish language through literature and poetry, which she integrates into her teaching to foster deeper engagement with the language.
