Campus Apartments

Campus Apartments {per resident – NOT per apartment}:

MOVE IN: Each resident in a campus apartment is required to review, sign and return a Room Condition Report upon initial move-in for the year or any time during a semester that an assignment change is approved by the Office of Student Affairs. The Room Condition Report must be reviewed, signed and return to the Office of Student Affairs during normal business hours by 5 p.m. on the first Friday after the first day of classes. If you move in the middle of the year, the resident has three days after moving in to review, sign and return the form. The Room Condition Report allows each resident to insert notes regarding any room/furniture damages.  Any perceived discrepancies should be noted on the Room Condition Report before signing and returning by the deadline. Upon move-out all notes regarding any damages or missing furniture are compared by staff to those made during the check-in process. Any discrepancies between the two, other than normal ‘wear-and-tear’ are then billed to student accounts. Damages or missing furniture noted at check-in protect the resident against unwarranted charges. Failure to complete and turn in the RCR form by the announced deadline date after move-in will result in a $75 improper check-in fine.  Failure to accept and submit the form implies acceptance by the resident that all listed items are in good condition.

MOVE OUT:  Upon move-out all notes made by staff regarding any damages or missing furniture are compared to those made during the check-in process. Any discrepancies between the two, other than normal ‘wear-and-tear’ are then billed to student accounts. Damages or missing furniture noted at check-in protect the resident against unwarranted charges.  Student Affairs staff will examine each Student Apartment to review the Room Condition Report, inspect the apartment and assess fines for damages as necessary.

The apartment should be left in broom-clean condition and all bathroom/kitchen fixtures should also be clean. NO personal property may be left in the apartment. Failure to clean the apartment properly or to remove all personal items will result in fines. Please note that ALL TRASH must be taken to the dumpster behind Clark Hall next door to avoid fines and not simply left in an apartment room, common area, exterior hallway or stairwell. Failure to follow announced and publicized move-out instructions will result in a $75 Improper Check Out fine.   A list of checkout fines is available HERE.
