Faculty Experts

Benefit from the knowledge of our faculty experts.

University of Dallas faculty offer subject matter expertise on a wide variety of topics. The university works to match these experts with members of the print, digital and broadcast media who are in need of well-qualified sources.

The university’s faculty directory is also a comprehensive resource that includes each faculty member’s area of expertise.

Share a News Tip

Members of the University of Dallas community are encouraged to share news, story ideas, faculty achievements, student accomplishments, upcoming events and other items that may be of interest to the broader university community or members of the media.

Campus Visits

Members of the media who wish to visit campus for interviews, photography, videography or audio recording should contact the university before arriving.

As a private university, the University of Dallas seeks to balance media access with the safety, privacy and normal operations of our students, faculty, staff and visitors. Media visits, interviews, photography and video recording on campus should be coordinated in advance.

University Spokespeople

In most cases, official university statements on issues of campus-wide significance, sensitive matters or institutional policy are provided by the president, designated senior leaders or the university’s designated media contact.

Depending on the topic, the university may designate another administrator, faculty member or subject matter expert to speak on behalf of the university.

In matters of significant institutional concern, the university will work with leadership and appropriate campus officials to prepare a coordinated response.

Guidance for Faculty and Staff

Faculty and staff may respond to media requests related to their research, scholarship, teaching or professional expertise. When contacted by a member of the media, faculty and staff are encouraged to notify the university’s designated media contact so the university can help coordinate follow-up, provide support and ensure accurate information is shared.

Media inquiries should be referred to the university’s designated media contact when they involve:

  • University-wide issues
  • Institutional policy
  • Sensitive or controversial topics
  • Crisis or emergency situations
  • Matters that may draw significant public attention

In a crisis or emergency, the university will coordinate media inquiries and the flow of public information in collaboration with university leadership and appropriate campus offices.
