Amanda McDevitt is currently teaching sculpture and ceramics at Summit High School in Mansfield, TX. She has previously worked as an adjunct professor at Chatham University where she created online independent study courses for secondary art education.
Amanda has particularly enjoyed working with her high school students. They have recently
completed a soft sculpture project in collaboration with Charlotte Anderson Prep Academy.
In this project, they created stuffed animals inspired by the elementary students'
creature drawings. The high school students then donated their stuffed animals to
Arlington Police Department Victim Services to provide comfort to children in challenging
situations.
