Rachel considers her time at UD as an art student as a pivotal time for her personal and professional life. She said that with the strong foundation she received in design and studio classes, she has been able to engage visually and analytically with artworks from the Ancient through the Contemporary eras. She took advanced art history classes that she considered particularly very eye-opening and informative. She liked how it challenged both her writing and observation skills. Rachel wrote her thesis on Jackson Pollock whose work she continues to engage with presently.

Rachel received her Master's degree at the University of North Texas, focusing on Medieval Art. She wrote her thesis on a small Benedictine monastic church in Southern Italy. She spent three weeks in Italy doing on-site research. Rachel was also a guest lecturer in survey classes, for which she served as a teaching assistant.
