Shortly after graduating from the University of Dallas, I traveled to Taiwan for a three-month artist residency at the Yingge Ceramics Museum, in New Taipei City. I loved the willingness of the Taiwanese people to participate in international cultural exchange. I had the opportunity to do workshops, exhibit my work, and visit many cultural sites. I have been in Taiwan for many years now because of the people I met, its beautiful landscape, and the cultures relationship with ceramics . I have established a clay studio in Yingge. In 2012, I received the Huayu Enrichment Scholarship to study Mandarin. I also studied at Shida University in Taipei. I continue to focus on improving my functional ware, exhibiting, and improving my Chinese.
