I have served the University of Dallas as an adjunct accounting instructor with the Satish & Yasmin Gupta College of Business for about 6 years. In addition, I have taught online previously and enjoyed it very much. It is a different environment from the typical on-ground classes, but a lot fun and a great way to learn!

Some background information about me. I completed by bachelor's degree in accounting from Virginia Commonwealth University in May, 2001. I then went right into my PhD (also at VCU) that August 2001. I worked a full time job, two part time jobs (including the teaching assistant position at the university during my Doctorate) and raised 8 children while completing my Bachelor's and Doctorate. To answer the question you are all thinking, no I did not sleep for 8 years and still don't that much (about 3 hours a night is all I need)!

Prior to returning to school, I was a restaurant manager for a few different chains. I started at Pizza Hut as an assistant manager and then a General Manager for 5 years. I left there and went to Papa John’s for a couple years, then was an Area Manager for Subway working for a private owner who had 7 stores. Finally, I was a General Manager for Sbarro’s Italian Eatery. After 10 years, I decided I had enough and returned to school to get my degree. While I was working on my degree, I was an Accounts Payable Manager for a Fortune 500 Financial company as well as an Accounts Receivable Manager for an Oil Refinery Company (corn and sunflower oil).

Education: Ph.D. in accounting from Virginia Commonwealth University, Richmond, Virginia, 2005 and a B.S. in accounting from Virginia Commonwealth University, Richmond, Virginia, 2001.
